Since 2013 when LVL introduced Meljac to the US market, LVL has been designing, manufacturing and importing interior and exterior electrical and lighting products. The design concept is simple, creating timeless pieces that are new and use only the best materials available to deal with the changing environment.

Over the last 12 years we have received numerous requests from your network of architects, landscape architects, lighting consultants and custom home builders inquiring if we have designed or manufactured a new UL approved exterior outlet that is “not flush mounted” and therefore does not interfere with the exterior visual aspects of the home.

In 2022 LVL designed a new and innovative exterior outlet that was UL approved in June of 2023, patented in 2025 and has a NEMA type 4 X rating. The outlet is installed in the ground which provides superior protection against fire, hurricanes, tornadoes, and excessive winds and meets all the 2020 NEC regulations.

As per the 2020 NEC regulations regarding exterior outlets:.

Every new home must have at least one exterior outdoor receptacle at the front and rear of the house with a GFCI /W outdoor receptacle with an “in use cover”.
Receptacles in damp locations, including attached decks and interior accessible balconies, must have an exterior receptacle.
A permanent swimming pool or spa must have access to an electrical receptacle that is no closer than 6 feet and no further than 20 feet from the edge of the pool in a weatherproof “in-use” cover.
In addition, the outlet also complies with all NEC and UL certification as an above ground junction box due to its NEMA type 4X rating which provides the highest level of environmental protection.

In addition, our products have a 2-year warranty against discoloration or electrical failure. The entire outlet is made of 1/8” cast aluminum and anodized which makes it basically indestructible and maintenance free.

All our electrical products meet UL, CSA and CE certification requirements and have been tested in the field for a minimum of 18 months.
